This week's quote comes from a love letter by Gustave Flaubert, to his wife Louise Colet, written August 15, 1846. Amazing the amount of passion, love, and desire he put to paper for her; and the images evoked by his words. Even in this modern day and age, these timeless words open the heart and soul. 

My dears, what happened to the act of writing a thought provoking, body stirring love letter to the object of your affection? In this day of cellphones, social media, and email we are more reachable and connected than ever before; but when was the last time you wrote a soul-stirring love letter to yours? Are we so caught up that we can not take the time to put pen to paper and tell the one we desire exactly that and more? Or have we lost the true sense of romantic love in this day of online dating, self-help romance books, and game-playing? When did it become taboo to share your wonderful feelings & desires for another? Even if by chance those desires are unreturned I guarantee for that brief moment in time the recipient will smile & his or her heart will feel lighter (and more than likely that written sentiment will be cherished forever because of its rarity and the happiness it sparked). 

So my darlings, last time I sent you in search of the perfect kiss; so this time I am requesting you share those beautiful bottled up thoughts and put a smile on the face of your heart's desire.

P.S. As much as I prefer the handwritten notes of a simpler time, I have come to the realization these electronic times insist I accept a well written heartfelt, body and soul stirring email every so often.

I think that is pretty obvious it would be the starring role in “ Gone With the Wind” of course. The journey of a strong, spirited Southern Belle through life’s ups and downs; her romances and loves; her growth from foolish young girl to strong, confident, passionate woman. It is the wonderfully emotional account of the human spirit’s struggle with turmoil, tragedy, & triumph; and of finally realizing your one true love, then losing it. Wow a truly beautiful, poignant story. Definitely Scarlett O'Hara Hamilton Kennedy Butler would be my role of choice.
